say hello to our new summer activity - pop-up pansy picnics: painting ceramics in the park! 

We’re combining our favourite activities; hanging out with friends, enjoying sunshine, and embracing our crafty, creative selves while painting ceramics 🎨🖌️🌞

Join us for a sweet summer time: 

• There is no set date for this activity, we are going to keep an eye on the weather (hallo buienalarm🌝) to choose warm sunny days in the coming months (on weekday afternoons and weekends) we’re hoping to hold at least 2-3 per month! 

• We’ll announce the picnic approximately 4 days before it happens on instagram & our newsletter 

• As soon as we release the time, date, location on socials, head over to our website to sign yourself (and your friends!) up to secure your spot(s) 

• The picnic will run for 3.5 hours, feel free to drop in at the beginning and stay for the whole time, or pop in & out as you please - the sessions are relaxed, self-guided with our illustrated flyer guide, so all experience levels are welcome. 

• There will always be a pansy team member there to help you (look for the cuties in a pink shirt & pansy sign!) we aren’t running the sessions like a structured workshop with a starting introduction, so feel free to spread out on your own/with friends/hot date, or stay in our clump to meet new friends! Our teacher will be there to offer support and answer any questions

• We will bring all the materials you’ll need: a surprise ceramic item (it could be a cup, vase, plate) glazes, brushes, water, doekjes, pencils, erasers, etc. 

• We’ll bring some snacks, drinks to share, but feel free to bring along something for yourself or to share with the group too! 

• Leave the ceramics with us, we’ll bring them back to pansy to glaze, fire, and you’ll receive an email when they’re ready for collection within 2 weeks or you can have them shipped back home to you here.

FAQ

• When's the next date? How come I can't book it on the website?

  The pansy picnics are pop-up events, which means there’s no set date just yet, it’ll be determined by the weather!

  Keep a close eye on our website, socials, newsletter to stay informed about the next sunny day picnic! We will try and announce the event around 4-5 days in advance!

• Where will the location be?

  We are going to try pop up in our favourite green grassy spots in Amsterdam, which allows us to reach our friends over in Amsterdam West, Zuid, and Noord! The location will be kept a surprise until we announce the date, but if you have any requests or favourite picnic areas, let us know!

• Can I bring friends to join?

  Of course! We welcome everybody, if you’d like to join in for the ceramic painting, we charge per person to cover materials. If you know in advance that you and a group of friends would like to join, please book in advance so that we can bring enough items for you all!

• Will you accept walk-ins and unexpected guests?

  We will bring a small amount of extra items for people passing by who may like to join (and a card reader so you can pay on the spot) but keep in mind transporting ceramics can be quite heavy, so we’ll only take as much as we can carry. First in, best dressed!

  If you know you’d like to do the picnic with a bunch of friends, please see above and book in a spot for them!

• Can I choose which item to glaze in advance?

  Since we are carrying a big load of dozens of ceramics we are going to limit the items to a curated selection that we think you’ll love! If you’d really like to choose exact which object to glaze, we recommend purchasing a pansy pack or coming to one of our workshops!

• How long does the session last?

  We are going to stay in the park location for 3.5 hours. The sessions are designed to be drop-in/out so you can come anytime during the window timeframe (we’re planning for late afternoon/early evening for weekdays, and early afternoon for weekends) but this is based on our team’s availability, in-house workshop schedule at pansy, and the weather of course.

• How does it all work?

  1. We’ll announce a pansy pop-up painting picnic on our socials (website, instagram, tiktok, newsletter) with the time, location, and date

  2. Book in via our website (we welcome groups, so just book your spots in advance!)

  3. We’ll set up on a cosy grassy sunny area, come and find us on the day! You can come anytime during the 3.5 hour timeslot

  4. Check-in with our pansy team, we’ll get you settled in with drinks, snacks, your object, instructions leaflet with a technical explanation, and make sure you feel comfy and cosy

  5. Feel free to stay with the group to meet & mingle with us and meet new buds, or find your own nook by yourself/with your friends/hot date - we’re happy for you to choose whichever option feels best!

  6. Enjoy the sun, eat yummy snacks, paint your ceramics in a peaceful park

  7. When you’re done, leave the ceramic item with us, we’ll take it back to the studio to dip in transparent glaze, and fire in our kiln. You’ll receive an email when your item is ready for collection within 2 weeks, or you can have the option of getting it sent back to you here.

What’s the difference between a ceramic painting workshop and a pansy picnic?
