saturday 25 january + 1 february (afternoon)
Welcome to the Lumpy Mug Workshop! Let’s make a cute lumpy wonky handmade mug together!
The workshop is run across two sessions: during the first we’ll introduce working with clay, tips and techniques for two different ways of working with clay: pinching and rolling slabs. By the end of the session we’ll have one mug and one small accessory (your choice of a saucer, tea spoon, teabag holder, or something else!) ready for the first firing.
The second session is focused on glazing and finishing the pieces in preparation for the last firing. We’ll learn about the applications of different kinds of glazes, underglazes, decorating with patterns, illustrations and the firing process.
Session 1: Saturday 25 January | 2:30 - 5:00pm
Session 2: Saturday 1 February | 2:00 - 4:00pm
What do I need to bring or prepare?
All materials, tools, drinks & snacks are included in the workshop, just bring yourself and if you feel like it, a few images to be inspired by.
Working with clay can get a bit messy, so please bring an apron or wear some old clothes.
Your pieces will be ready for collection within two weeks of completing the workshop. We’ll send an email out to you as soon as they’re ready. You can either pick it up from pansy (we’d love to see you again!) or have the option for us to post your piece back to you.
Please have a look at our cancellation policy before making a booking!
